Hello Fellow Parents,
I am Karen Hurst, the voice behind TotFocus, a blog designed for hearts and minds devoted to the incredible journey of parenting. As I sit down to share my story with you, I cannot help but reflect on the first time I held my baby in my arms. It was a chilly afternoon in November; I remember how the sun peeked through the window, casting a warm glow in what felt like a small, precious world I now held.
In that moment, I was enveloped in a whirlwind of emotions — joy, love, uncertainty, and, incredibly, a deep-seated curiosity about who this little person would become. I looked into those small, curious eyes and realized that a new chapter was unfolding, one filled with questions, challenges, and a bottomless well of learning opportunities.
Every day since has been a new adventure, each filled with unique milestones and discovery. Whether it be the myriad of choices in infant feeding, navigating sleep rhythms, or the role of play in cognitive development, as a parent, my inquiries were boundless. With each echoing laugh, every tear shed, and all the chaos in between, I became even more fascinated by the enormity of my role.
This inquiry-led rapport with motherhood soon blossomed into a fine-alert understanding of the importance of connecting with fellow parents. Each shared story expanded my outlook and sparked joy in moments that often felt overwhelming. Thus, TotFocus was born.
This blog is a celebration of parental experiences large and small, from debates on the best toddler snacks to the existential questions of shaping curious minds. At TotFocus, I strive to provide insights backed by research, personal anecdotes, and discussions that traverse from the light-hearted to the deeply philosophical.
I believe every parent has a story worth telling, an exploration worth diving into. Join me, and let us create a community stitched together by curiosity, support, and the wonders of sour cheeks and chubby fingers. I hope that through TotFocus, you will find inspiration to nurture your own curiosity, connect with the magic of parenting, and relish every unique journey that threading parenting entails.
Here’s to the questions, the love, the messiness, and more importantly, each cherished moment—let's explore this all together.
Warmly,
Karen Hurst
